Lady Katherine Blakely is married to a monster. On the same night she witnesses how low her husband can sink, she meets a charming stranger, a gentleman from top to toe. Yet even her gallant rescuer is possessed of a dark side.

Lord George Draconis Thornton, commander of the Dominus Daemonum, is on a mission to expel the demon prince Damas back to the underworld. But a golden-haired beauty derails his plans and stirs an attraction he’s never felt before, not even for his centuries-dead wife.

Discovering Lord Blakely is in league with Damas, George sweeps Katherine away from the chaos and devilry threatening her life. With every touch, their love grows by joyful leaps and bounds.

Sensing his enemy’s vulnerability, Damas kidnaps Katherine to his hellish lair, where he wages a sensual assault on her defenses. As George tears at heaven and earth to find her, he is painfully aware of only one way to save her soul. The cost will break her heart…and destroy his own.

Read on for my thoughts on The Deepest Well.  No true spoilers, promise.

This is one of those rare times when I’m going to tell you that The Deepest Well is simply amazing – but to get the absolute most from Juliette Cross’ newest series Age of Gray… go read The Vessel trilogy first.  Seriously.

We first met Kat and George in The Vessel trilogy, and it’s obvious there is something serious between them.  In The Deepest Well we go back in time to their beginning – and what a journey these two have had.  We begin in the 1800s, in London where a brave woman puts on her “for the public” face and discovers yet another reason to despise her hated husband.  There were no options for the women of her era when dealing with horrible men who show one face to the world and allow their evil side to emerge at home.  And her husband has a truly beyond human evil side.

That same night,, Kat will meet the man who will have such a profound affect upon her life – in ways she cannot even imagine… yet.

Time is a fluid thing.  And time passes quite differently in the underworld where Kat had been held captive.  As George does everything within his power to find and rescue her, time passes and lives will change.  The Deepest Well is a story that transcends time itself and the devotion of one man for the woman he loves knows no boundaries.

I found The Deepest Well to be a story that captures the imagination and spins a tale of such emotional upheaval.  If you love Paranormal, this is one story you’ll want to be reading.

*I received an e-ARC of The Deepest Well from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*
