Coldly ruthless and deeply cynical, Apollo Metraxis has made a career of bachelorhood. But when the inheritance of his father’s estate is conditional on a marriage and a child, he is forced to do the unthinkable!

Unpolished Pixie Robinson is the world’s worst choice of a wife for Apollo. Yet her family’s mounting debts leave her defenseless and therefore uniquely suitable.

But when the wedding night exposes Pixie’s untouched vulnerability, striking a chord in the dark reaches of his heart, Apollo is forced to think again.

And that’s before he discovers that she’s carrying not one—but two Metraxis heirs!

Title:  The Greek’s Christmas Bride

My Rating:  4 stars

The Greek’s Christmas Bride is the second title in the Harlequin Presents duet Christmas with a Tycoon.  We first met Pixie and Apollo in The Italian’s Christmas Child as the best friends of that couple, Holly and Vito.  Both are headstrong and stubborn, and they are about to meet their match in each other, as Apollo has a need, and he isn’t above a bit of emotional blackmail to get what he requires.

Apollo is coldly enraged at the requirement of his deceased father’s will that he must marry and have a child before he can officially head the company he’s been in control of in his father’s absence for years.  An off-handed remark will set his mind to an alternative, one that would fulfill the stipulations of the will, yet be entirely temporary on his part.  He’s about to buy himself a wife, and although it might not make sense, he knows the perfect candidate who needs him (or his money) as much as he needs her to produce that heir.

At this point in her life, Pixie is between a rock and, well, desperation.  Her brother is in dire trouble, with debts owed to ruthless men who don’t take no for an answer.  She’s at wits’ end when the one man she cannot stand (but why is she also attracted to the jerk) makes her an offer that she really cannot refuse.  Marry, produce a child, divorce, and she and her child will live in luxury for the remainder of their lives, with visits from Apollo to his offspring, of course.  His offer sounds like an answer to a prayer, yet Pixie trusts no man, especially one as handsome, sexy, and ruthless as Apollo.  She’ll take a risk, for her brother’s sake, and hope that she doesn’t regret this decision… which she already is.

The Greek’s Christmas Bride is a delightful romance with a couple whose passion for each other just might match their stubborn natures.  When we met Apollo in Holly and Vito’s story, he was such an arrogant, opinionated jerk.  I enjoyed seeing a softer side to this man who has faced so much pain and has built his walls as high as a castle tower to protect himself.  This couple’s story is well-written, passionate, and intense in so many ways that it’s very easy to get caught up in their growing love for each other.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.  (So glad to see more Harlequin titles in KU these days!)
