Can they build a future with staying power?

Rodeo champion Rhett Foster walked away from Norah after one unforgettable evening last summer, vowing not to risk their friendship again. He’s parked his hat temporarily in Marietta to help his father recover from surgery, then he’s headed out to discover life after rodeo. But an emergency at Foster Construction lassos Rhett into wrangling renovations—and his feelings—on the Miles’ ranch.

Norah Miles is done putting her dreams on hold. With her family’s redesigned guest cabins nearly ready for tourists, she’s set her sights on Bozeman and a fresh start in interior design. But their magazine feature morphs into a high-stakes design contest, throwing Norah’s plans—and nerves—into chaos. To make matters worse, the only person who can help her finish the project on time is her younger brother’s best friend, the rugged cowboy she’s trying to forgive and forget.

As sawdust flies, Norah and Rhett can’t ignore the sparks igniting between them. Will they risk their hearts for a chance at love, or let fear ride them out of each other’s lives for good?

The Rodeo Cowboy’s Redemption is the third title in The Miles of Montana series, located in my favorite fictional small town of Marietta, Montana.  Norah and Rhett have known each other for some time now.  He’s her younger brother’s best friend, yet there was that one time when things almost went beyond the “bro code” level of attraction between them… which Rhett shut down real fast.  Unfortunately, Norah took that very personally, especially when she never understood why nor even heard from him again about it.  (Note to the guys out there: Talk in person, don’t leave a note on the dashboard, and wonder why she never saw it when it blew away !)  To say that things are now… tense… between them is an understatement.  Rhett still feels the attraction to Norah, that’s not going anywhere soon, but he’s not the settling-down kind of guy, and the rodeo is calling him back.   Norah is also ready to get out of Marietta before it’s too late for her to find a life outside of this small town… and someone to love her enough to stay.

Unfortunately, life just got very complicated for these two.  Rhett is staying in town, working at his father’s construction company while his dad recovers from surgery, and the company’s manager/foreman is injured.  And Norah has contracted their company to work on the guest cabins at the family ranch.  Talk about awkward.  They’re going to have to work together and stop ignoring the elephant in the room (that missing note and total silence about that moment).

I enjoyed The Rodeo Cowboy’s Redemption by Kyra Jacobs.  Two very stubborn people are going to get some lessons in actually using their words to clear up this misunderstanding between them… and address the attraction that isn’t going anywhere soon.  Watching them lower the walls enough to see each other’s point of view, and maybe be willing to take a risk on each other, was emotional, entertaining, and full of laughter and arguments.  Their story is well-written, passionate, emotional, and kept me fully engaged throughout.  If you love an enemies-to-lovers trope, with a couple that really does belong together, then you’re going to love this one.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the author or the author’s team via Booksprout, and I sincerely thank them for their trust. It is my choice to leave a review, giving my personal opinion about this book.*
