Until Enzo sails in on his superyacht! Her brother’s best friend is a bachelor through and through.
He’s also the only one who understands Thaleia’s need for freedom. And for the first time, she sees the chinks in his playboy armor.

I had fun with The Trouble with Italian Millionaires, the first title in the multi-author duo/series, A Pact Between Tycoons. Ms. Baine is a new-to-me author whose ‘voice’ I liked. Thaleia has good reason to be leery of playboys, men with no intention to commit beyond their own pleasures. Been there, done that, got the torn tee-shirt and the cracked mug as proof, as well as the heartache. Her wealthy family’s need to control every aspect of her life had reached the breaking point, and now she answers only to herself, working in her jewelry business and living the island life. She needs no one’s approval… she wouldn’t mind it, but she doesn’t need it. Now, her brother’s best friend, Enzo, has just sailed in on his superyacht to ask her to create a special piece… too bad he’s cut from the same cloth as her ex-fiancé, the one who left her at the altar.
Enzo lives the high life with not a single regret; the pleasures of the moment are high on his priority list. His best friend might have given up the playboy life; that’s fine, but Enzo has no intention of being anything but what he is. He doesn’t realize it yet, but that self-first lifestyle is about to change when his best friend’s sister captures his attention. Of course, there’s the bro code, and they had vowed to leave each other’s sisters alone… but Thaleia tempts him like no other woman, and unlike every other woman, she has no interest in him or his lifestyle.
The Trouble with Italian Millionaires was a fun escape. Thaleia and Enzo light up the pages with their chemistry and their banter. There were times when Enzo was extremely entitled and unlikable. Watching this (okay, gonna call it as I see it: manchild grow up, change his attitude and his ways) for Thaleia was well played. They both have issues that need to be dealt with before they can see a future together. The journey to a happy ending for them was well-written, steamy, emotional, and an enjoyable reading experience. If that sounds like your kind of romance, then you’d love this one.
