Cover Description:

When Nolan Kincaid skipped town to chase the music career of his dreams, he knew he wouldn’t miss the reminders of his broken family—he wasn’t so sure he could forget the girl he left behind. Now his band is touring nonstop, the recording sessions go all night, and the groupies are crazed. But when he hears that Hailey Wilkins is in trouble, he drops everything.

Hailey thought she’d missed her chance with Nolan. Five years ago, the moment she realized she loved him was the moment he decided to leave. Now, when a brutal assault lands her in the ICU, Nolan flies straight to her bedside, acting like nothing’s changed. What’s a rock star like him doing, canceling shows and risking his record deal, just to nurse an old friend back to health? And why should Hailey believe he’ll stay this time?

With her attacker still at large, Nolan’s ready to rise to the occasion. He knows he let Hailey down once before, but he’s ready to give her everything, heart and soul—and he’ll fight for the chance to prove it.

Read on for my thoughts on This One Moment.  No true spoilers, promise.

This One Moment was a good, entertaining read – even if I did have a couple issues with the delivery and dual amnesia.  But I love a second chance / best friends to lovers type of story so I simply overlooked what didn’t make complete sense to me and went with it.  I’m keeping in mind also that this is the first story in the Pushing Limits series, so perhaps some of my questions will be answered over the length of the series.

Nolan’s life pretty much blew up right before he left his home town to head to L A to work on his music career.  It meant that he left his best friend and the girl he loved behind as well but he vowed to watch over her from afar… it helps to have common friends in their hometown to keep him up to date.  When one of those friends contacts Nolan to tell him Hailey has been attacked and is in the hospital, he catches the next flight home – nothing is more important than getting to and protecting Hailey.

Hailey was surprised and elated to see Nolan when she awoke – it still hurt that he left, but that never stopped her love for him.  Right now no one knows why Hailey was attacked and she doesn’t remember much.  For now Nolan will hold off on the things he needs to be doing in L A and stays with the woman he’s always loved.

There are some events, like I said, that confuse me so I’m not going to get too much further into the story simply because I want to be more confident before I write about it.. so I’ll save that for another review down the line.

I enjoyed This One Moment for what it is.. a charming second chance romance with a bit of mystery and suspense tossed in.  I’m looking forward to continuing the series to learn what happens next.  I’d not hesitate to recommend this one for anyone who enjoys a good, entertaining second chance love story with a few suspense and mystery twists.
