But the moment Taylor walks back into his life, bruised and beaten, Darius blames himself. To make good on his betrayal, he vows to help her heal—in and out of the sheets.
Once upon a time, Darius was Taylor’s world. Now his fierce embrace is exactly what she needs to get back on her feet. But Taylor pays a heavy price for her sizzling nights with Darius. Look, I enjoy kink as much as the next girl, the dominance and pure sex of this novel wasn’t and isn’t my issue here. Quite honestly I could not connect in any fashion with the characters, for the most part. There were moments when I “got” Taylor, but still that wasn’t enough to save this story for me. Darius… no, just no. He might be sex on a stick to some but he fell flat for me on so many levels.
Yes, this one got 3 stars from me which equates to a “good” story. And in many ways it is. The plot is interesting. The characters well rounded. The evil doers in the background are enough to hate without knowing their identities… yet. So yeah, it’s a good story but it wasn’t one for me. This is the story that the author presented – and, unfortunately, I didn’t connect with it… this time. I’ll certainly read Stacey Kennedy again, she packs a powerful punch in all her stories. Darius was the downfall for me in Tied To His Betrayal. I love a bad boy yet he has to have something that I can connect to, some quality that makes him worth the risk to love. I didn’t find that with Darius and Taylor’s story. Perhaps you will, and that’s the beauty of reading we each take something different away from every book we read. The only way to know your reaction to their love is to read it for yourself. Your opinion is the one that really matters.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this novel. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this story.*
