WINNING ISN’T EVERYTHING

Callie Daniels is a singular sensation. She owns and operates her own bakery, contributes to a popular lifestyle blog, and is the dance team coach at a local high school. She lives by her own design and is much too busy to consider dating. Mr. Right will have to fit into her life when the time is right…

UNLESS YOU’RE PLAYING FOR KEEPS

Football coach Bennett Clark always plays by the rules. He knows that his new colleague Callie is off limits but she’s so beautiful-and irritating!-that Bennett can’t get her off his mind. She wants him to participate in a charity dance contest, and won’t take no for an answer. Soon, what begins as a festive athletic endeavor turns into a heated flirtation on and off the dance floor. Could it be that the free-spirited Callie has finally found a way through Coach Clark’s line of defense?

Read on for my thoughts on Win Me Over.  No true spoilers, promise.

The feel good romance of the Hearts and Crafts series continues in Win Me Over.

Callie and Bennett are a charming couple – the spitfire and the coach.  Callie has a full life.  Her bakery, teacher of the dance team at the High School and her circle of friends and crazy family doesn’t leave her with much time off not even for romance.  But there’s something about Coach Clark… aside from the fact that he isn’t the tottering old football coach she envisioned.  Once loosened up and relaxed, the man has some serious moves.  Maybe even straight to her heart.

Bennett isn’t looking for romance.  Been there, done that, got the scars to prove it.  But when he is backed into a corner and makes the decision to go forward with entering a dance competition with Callie his life is going to change.  What Callie doesn’t know yet is that he can’t dance his way out of a wet paper bag and the injury that ended his professional football career pretty much means he’s going to be in constant, severe pain even trying.  But should they win this thing he would be able to get several of his senior players off to a better college start with the scholarship money he could offer them.  For his guys, he’ll put up with anything including pain and a fiery, sexy dance instructor as well.

I adore Callie.  She is truly a spitfire complete with a crazy mom and the most funny, charming BFF in Eric.  Oh the scenes with Eric are simply laugh out loud sputtering of any beverage you just partook of.  *grin*  Bennett and Callie work so well together as a couple.  Theirs is a slow burn, slow buildup to a love story that is the definition of feel good romance.  Of course there are some issues and monkey wrenches tossed in.  But the way they overcome every single one, eventually makes their story all the sweeter and enjoyable.

If you love a simple, no drama, feel good romance then Win Me Over is one you’ll want to pick up and enjoy.  I definitely recommend this one to all romance lovers.  And I’m looking forward to Lindsey’s story next year.

*I received an e-ARC of Win Me Over from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*
