Small-town Wilfred, Oregon, is poised to step into the limelight, and the citizens behind the renovation of the old movie palace—into a brew pub—certainly want that to continue. Until librarian and apprentice witch Josie Way discovers a dead body . . .

Local librarian Josie Way’s life is in shambles. Her magical abilities are on the fritz, and her relationship with sexy sheriff Sam has cooled way off since she told him she’s a witch. On top of that, Josie senses a bad energy she can’t explain, which seems to be interrupting her connection with the spellbound library books, usually her sure-fire way to get to the bottom of any mystery.

When she wakes to a fierce pounding in the library’s atrium, she hurries there—only to find a corpse. But after she goes for the phone to call Sam, she returns to the atrium to find the body gone—and all the doors and windows are still locked. And that’s just the beginning of a mystery that features Josie as the prime suspect, several shady characters, and possible long-lost relatives. It’s just like the beginning of an old movie, but Josie will need a lot more direction than her grandmother’s magic lessons will provide . . .

Titles in the Witch Way Librarian Mysteries series include:  Bait and Witch ~ Seven-Year Witch ~ Witch and Famous ~ Witch Upon a Star ~ Gone With the Witch ~ The Witch is Back ~ Witch and Tell ~

This is a no-spice romance/paranormal cozy mystery with either closed doors or fade-to-black scenes. Tension and kisses might be involved 🙂

Title:  Witch and Tell
Series:  Witch Way Librarian Mysteries #7
Author:  Angela M. Sanders
Published:  October 28, 2025
Publisher:  Kensington Cozies
My Rating:  4.5 stars

Witch and Tell is the seventh title in the Witch Way Librarian Mysteries series… and while I’ve read several books in this series, I definitely need to get caught up, especially since there was a feeling of everything wrapping up in this particular adventure of Josie, Rodney the cat, Sam the sheriff, and the other quirky characters in this small town.  I’ve learned to never say the end, but it did feel that way to me.  Time will tell.

When you put together the words librarian and books, well, you had my attention at the library!  Although now Josie seems to be losing that magical touch she has received from books, mainly since the misunderstanding with Sam.  Maybe she shouldn’t have told him that she’s a witch.  Yet there shouldn’t be lies in a relationship.  But she needs Sam more than ever now, since there’s been another murder… or has there?  Confusion and chaos give way to logic and investigation as Josie and crew set out to prove her innocence and someone else’s treachery.

I enjoyed being back in this world, and Witch and Tell by Angela M. Sanders delivered everything I look for in a Paranormal Cozy Mystery story.  There are enough red herrings, twists, and turns to keep me on my toes while enjoying the antics of so many characters, especially Rodney.  It’s well-written, engaging, and full of surprises.  If you love a good cozy mystery, then you’d love this one.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley, and I sincerely thank the author or publishing house for their trust.  It is my choice to leave a review, giving my personal opinion about this book.*
