When commitment-allergic Knox Carey discovers an abandoned baby in a snowstorm in the middle of nowhere on a cold December night, he doesn’t think twice. He rescues the tiny girl and quickly realizes he needs help.
It’s a no-brainer to call Dr. Ramona Taylor—the closest thing to a hospital in Cowboy Point. Sure, they broke up. More than once. And she was clear on what she thought about his emotional constipation, but Knox bets that while she might want to set him on fire—and not in a fun way—the baby will inspire her to keep the lighter fluid at bay.
Not necessarily. Knox ripped out Romona’s heart. It’s as simple as that, but her medical training won’t allow her to do anything but help. Still, seeing the man she once loved enough to dream of forever with a baby in his arms? It kills her. Worse, she’s trapped with him during a raging snowstorm, living a dream version of the life she knows she can never have.
But it’s Christmas in Cowboy Point—maybe miracles might just happen after all…

A Christmas Baby for the Cowboy is the fifth, and final story in The Careys of Cowboy Point series… but wait, there’s a new series set again in Cowboy Point, a small, mountain town near Marietta, Montana, coming in 2026. So we aren’t really saying goodbye, just until we meet again as secondary characters in a new series set in this delightful small town.
Knox is the youngest of the Carey brothers. He’s spent most of his life as the brunt of teasing, as only brothers can, and at some point, he just blanked them out, believing that his future lay outside of this ranch, this small town. The world was huge, and his desire for a wanderlust life grew over the years. Although he helped out on the ranch, he had his own business, one that he could pick up and take with him when he left. His father’s sudden “illness” put a stop to those plans. He didn’t settle down for good, in his mind, more like for as long as his father and family needed him.
Ramona is the new doctor in Cowboy Point, having visited here with her deceased grandfather when she was younger, has decided to make this her home. She met Knox on her first night here, and he’s been the focus of her attention ever since. They have a sort of unique, exclusive on-again/off-again relationship mainly because Knox will not commit since he, in his mind, already has one foot out the door mentality about Cowboy Point. They are currently finished, and Ramona is determined to fight this love she has for this most annoying man.
Yet despite their relationship status, when a baby is left on Knox’s doorstep on Christmas Eve in a blinding blizzard, there is only one person he calls, even though his family was much closer… he called Ramona, even knowing he was tempting fate once again.
I loved A Christmas Baby for the Cowboy by Megan Crane. It was the perfect wrap-up story for this series. Knox and Ramona were always a perfect fit; he knew that, although he certainly fought it relentlessly. There will be some major groveling to get Ramona back, an adorable baby to fall for, updates on the rest of the brothers’ lives, and one proud grandfather’s confession. This story is well-written, emotional, with all the various feels one could ask for, intense at times, tender at others. I’ve completely enjoyed this series, and although it is bittersweet to say goodbye, I’m looking forward to the next Cowboy Point series. If this sounds like your kind of romance, then this story is a perfect fit for you. The entire series is awesome.
