Alibi for Murder is the second title in the Colby Agency: The Next Generation series and brings us Allie’s and Steve’s intense, danger-filled romance.

The world, the life Allie thought she knew was shattered by a knock on her door by FBI agents accusing her of murder.  Evidence of her standing outside of the deceased man’s hospital room seems to be convincing.  Yet.  She hadn’t been at that hospital for a very long time, and she knew that she was home alone when the murder took place.  No alibi.  So, she called the one man who could help her now, Steve, a lawyer with the Colby Investigation Agency.  They are about to embark on a dangerous journey where almost everything in her life she was sure of comes into question.  And if they cannot find answers soon, she’s going down for a murder she did not commit… if she can stay alive to prove herself innocent.

The tension, the suspense ratchets up from the opening page of Alibi for Murder and rarely lets up throughout the search for answers by Allie and Steve.  I was fully engaged in their story, as lies pile up, red herrings are tossed, and unexpected twists kept me on my toes from the start to the finish of their story.  If you love a good murder mystery, or watching a couple fall in love while trying desperately to solve that puzzle then you’d love Alibi for Murder by Debra Webb.  It’s well-written, emotional, gripping, and ultimately satisfying as the bad guys are revealed.
