Going home shouldn’t be this hard…
Cassidy Lambert has worked hard to build a professional career in Great Falls, far from her domineering mother and the expectations of Coffee Creek Ranch. She swore she’d never come back for good. But when a dangerous equine disease threatens the family horses—and the ranch’s future—Cassidy has no choice but to return home.
Working side by side with rugged veterinarian Dan Farley is the last complication she needs. Their first date years ago ended in disaster, and Dan hasn’t forgotten it. Now forced into close quarters as they fight to save the ranch, old wounds resurface—and so does undeniable chemistry.
Dan once vowed to guard his heart against Cassidy’s sharp edges and city ambitions. Yet beneath her independence, he sees the compassionate woman who loves this land as fiercely as he does.
As the crisis deepens and small-town ties pull tight, Cassidy must choose: the life she built in the city… or the cowboy vet who feels like home.

Title: Her Cowboy Dilemma

My Rating: 4 stars
Her Cowboy Dilemma is the second title in the Coffee Creek, Montana series and brings Cassidy and Dan together once again when a crisis on her family ranch requires her to return home from her big city plans. She’d never intended to come home again. Too many memories, too much expected of her by an overbearing mother. (If there was one person I hated throughout this series, it was Olive. I make no excuses for that feeling; she’s just a horrible person, imo.)
I enjoyed Cassidy and Dan’s romance, despite not being able to stand one particular character who is nasty and manipulative. This couple has a history, a complicated history to be certain. Is Cassidy a spoiled brat? I don’t know; she acted immaturely at times, yet I gave her some slack because of Mommy Dearest breathing down her neck constantly. Dan also gave me moments when I wanted to smack him upside the head for his actions. In a strange way, this one was a story that I enjoyed, even though I didn’t particularly love the main characters. If anything, their flaws made their story more realistic on many levels. Her Cowboy Dilemma is well-written, emotional, passionate, and… well, it’s certainly complicated! I think, for me, this is going to be one of those stories that “move a series along” rather than one that I’d reread. Still, having said that, I did enjoy many aspects of Cassidy and Dan’s romance, so if you enjoy a romance that is certainly complicated, then you would enjoy this one.
