Home to the Cowboy is the fifth title in The Westons of Montana series. I’ve so enjoyed meeting all the Westons, and now it’s Dylan’s turn to find his true love… hopefully. June has recently found her now ex-boyfriend in bed with another woman. Fortunately, she can work remotely, so she decides to take a few months off to work from home, finish the children’s book she’s been working on, and get her head on straight where men are concerned. She’s heading for Marietta, Montana, a lovely little town she’s visited before when her car broke down, leaving her to walk into town in the pouring rain. She never expected the handsome cowboy to come to her rescue or be related to the person she did know in Marietta. She certainly didn’t expect the almost immediate attraction, something she shouldn’t be reacting to, given her recent history.
Dylan has great plans to bring his entire feuding family together again. It just might work if he can get everyone on board. What he hadn’t planned on was June. This beautiful woman with the sad eyes captivated him, and the need to know more about her was immediate. The attraction between them was sparking flames… too bad neither really knew what true relationships are supposed to be, given their personal backgrounds: June living in foster care and Dylan with dysfunctional parents. They are about to blunder their way through, and yes, mistakes and miscommunications are about to happen before they face a simple fact… love is worth the fight, worth doing it right, and despite their baggage, they are worth a shot at happiness, together.
I had fun, back in the Weston’s world again. Dylan and June make a perfectly imbalanced couple at first, both leery of the other, not trusting in love or forever, and neither knows how a real, honest, emotional relationship is supposed to work. They never saw them in action growing up, so learning to communicate with each other is an ongoing life lesson. I loved catching up with this extended family, especially the slightly paranormal moments (blink and you might miss them) that make some members of this family quite unique. Home to the Cowboy is well-written, steamy, emotional, and satisfying. If you love a romance where the couple is far from perfect but end up being “perfect” for each other, a huge family that often “helps” a romance along, then you’d enjoy June and Dylan’s romance.
