Island Dreams is the fifth title in the Amberjack Shores series, and gives us more of the Dalton family’s adaptation to changes in their lives in this generational saga.  Just when things seem to be moving smoothly, expect the unexpected.

I’m enjoying the Dalton family saga, as some relationships become stronger, others begin to fray at the edges.  A sister’s unplanned visit will bring suspicion and revelations, and a teenager’s unhappiness over learning unsettling things about her father will create tensions within the family.  Love deepens for one couple, and possibilities tempt another.  And one man’s knowledge of the truth behind a son’s disappearance will rattle the foundation of this family.

Island Dreams is a well-written, emotional, and oftentimes tension-filled saga with characters who are believable and situations unique yet realistic.  There were some things revealed that I had suspected for a while now, and I loved the life that both Becca and her daughter, Katie, are carving out for themselves with good men who love them and stand beside them proudly.  Life isn’t perfect for this family, but then life rarely is.  If you enjoy a women’s fiction, generational saga with characters you’ll become invested in, then you’d love Island Dreams by Laura Abbott.
