There’s no cure for Cupid!
For locum nurse Cass, a temporary contract on a Scottish island is a breath of fresh air.
After suffering a terrible loss, she’s lived on the go, never allowing anyone close.
Except for the warm welcome from her new boss, single-dad GP Lachie, who has her wondering if she can finally put down roots…
Sharing patients leads to sharing heartaches late into the night, when their spark threatens to turn into a blaze!
As Valentine’s Day approaches, will Cass find a home where her heart is?

Cass has always been alone. Her childhood with selfish, uncaring parents provided not much beyond the basics. She’s known heartache and has decided to set herself apart by taking temporary nursing assignments, always leaving. She doesn’t form relationships or friendships with the people she meets on her travels… she won’t open herself up to any more hurt. Alone is safe, so alone she remains. But that is about to change when she accepts an assignment in remote Scotland, with a doctor, a widower who has faced his own difficulties in life, with a young boy who touches a part of Cassie’s heart she’d thought she had locked away.
I liked Nurse’s Night Before Valentine’s. It’s a good story with characters who are so wounded that they couldn’t help but touch my heart. I adored little Ronon and loved watching as Cass and Lachie fought through their difficult pasts to discover that there could be a future together… if they each risked lowering their walls. That’s not always easy to do, especially for someone like Cass, who has been taught by life that alone is safer, to trust Lachie is going to be a huge risk for her.
Their story is well-written, emotional on so many levels, especially Lachie’s mother’s battle with dementia (which broke my heart, for I’ve lost loved ones to that insidious disease). If you love a romance where two wounded souls find that perfect person for them, then you’d enjoy Cass and Lachie’s story.
