Now a GAC Family Original Movie titled An Autumn Romance

One night. One dance. One chance to turn a Valentine’s Ball into something unforgettable…

Taylor Harris prefers her romance between the pages of a good book—not splashed across Marietta, Montana’s gossip mill. Quiet, practical, and perfectly content running the town library, she wants nothing to do with Marietta’s playboy, billionaire tech tycoon Troy Sheenan. However, when circumstances force her into attending the Valentine Ball on his arm, Taylor braces for the world’s most awkward night. Troy might set half the town swooning, but she has zero interest in being another notch on his designer belt.

Troy, on the other hand, is intrigued. He came back to Marietta for business, not pleasure, but the beautiful librarian with the sharp wit and frosty smile has him thinking about more than mergers and acquisitions. She doesn’t want him—and for the first time, he wants someone who’s not impressed by his money or charm. Now he’s determined to melt her icy reserve before the clock strikes midnight… because in a small town where everyone knows your business, sometimes love sneaks in quietly… and changes everything.

My Rating:  4.5 stars

Update 2025: The Taming of the Sheenans series has recently had a cover change/update.  The story within hasn’t changed, and neither has my opinion of this emotional romance.  My original review of The Tycoon’s Kiss was in 2015; a decade later, I still enjoyed this story and actually love both covers.  *shrugs with a smile*

The Tycoon’s Kiss is the second title in the Taming of the Sheenans series, featuring Taylor and Troy.

Taylor preferred spending her nights between the covers – of a good book.  She had no interest in being set up for a date for the Ball and especially not with Troy Sheenan.  She was Marietta’s new librarian, due to take over for the retiring librarian in June.  What in the world could she possibly have in common with Troy who was handsome, wealthy, a son of a long standing Marietta family and… well, no, she just couldn’t do it.

Troy was returning to Marietta for a few reasons, most importantly his father was in failing health and he simply could not stay away when this might be the last visit with his dad.  The Graff Hotel, his baby, his money-pit, his pride and joy – newly renovated, saved from the demolition crew by his determination and his money would be the venue for the Valentine Ball and while he might not believe in marriage, he certainly believed in taking the charming new librarian to the Ball – even if she tried to hide her beauty behind huge glasses and an older than she was attitude.  Plus the added fact that she was trying so hard to get out of this set up date intrigued him.  He couldn’t remember the last time a lady did not want to be around him, she was a bit of a mystery that he intended to solve.

It’s impossible to not fall in love with Troy and Taylor’s story.  They are just so right for each other and, darn it, so cute together.  I don’t think the silly smile left my face the entire time I was reading this one.  I simply really enjoyed the way their attraction played out, it was so natural and engaging.

I have no problem highly recommending The Tycoon’s Kiss to anyone who needs a good love story in their life.  This one is it.  Pick it up and indulge.

**Any review is just one person’s opinion. You might feel the same or totally different. The only way to know for certain is for you to read it. This was my opinion of this particular book.**

I own a Kindle edition of this title.

Do you love anything (any story) that’s even slightly connected to Marietta, Montana?  Yeah, me too.  Be sure to visit our Marietta, Montana pages (this link to where this series is located – there are three pages :)) to catch up on the series that you might have missed over time.  It’s quite an amazing and diverse community, with happily ever after endings guaranteed.
