The Cowboy Comes Home is the third title in the Home at Last Texas series, and brings us Emily’s and Tucker’s slow-burning romance. I love every opportunity to return to Last Stand, Texas, and their story did not disappoint. I will say that, in my opinion, the series is best read in order, if at all possible, for the background on the other couples you’ll run into. Not necessary, but it would provide a smooth-flowing reading experience, again, in my opinion.

Tucker was Jackson’s stuntman and his close friend. When Jackson left Hollywood with his son to settle into Last Stand and his therapy horse business… and the love of his life, well, Tucker was feeling the loss. He’s come to visit, and perhaps, to stay, but that decision is up in the air for now. Until he met Emily, and life got a bit complicated.

Emily is a Last Stand police K-9 officer, a woman who loves her job and is content with life. Until she met Tucker, whom she’d admired back in his rodeo days. The spark of attraction between them was obvious to anyone to see, yet Tucker held back for his own deeply personal reasons. Watching them work through his past and acknowledging very real issues was an emotional journey.

If you love a well-written, emotional, fun, engaging romance, then The Cowboy Comes Home by Justine Davis is perfect for you. The characters are believable and realistic in their reactions and situations. I had such fun back in this world, and I believe you will, too. I can’t wait to see what comes next.
