In the small town of Hazard, finding your soulmate might require magical intervention.

Ivy Wayland has a bet with her sister, who says you can’t have it all—success in business or love, but not both. Since opening her tea shop, Ivy knows where her priorities should be, but she has her heart set on her landlord. All her life, she’s heard the family lore about how their antique cookie press infuses homemade cookies with so much love that the recipient will fall head over heels for the giver. Ivy decides to take the chance.

Jaxon Langford is ready to move on. The only thing stopping him from selling up is concern about how some of his small business owners would fare with a greedier landlord. When one of his enthusiastic tenants brings him a tin of delicious-looking cookies, he’s charmed. He takes the cookies to his baseball team’s practice, only to watch them be devoured without getting so much as a bite.

Suddenly, Ivy has her pick of the town’s eligible bachelors—except Jaxon. How can she prove her sister wrong and win Jaxon’s heart?

Titles in the Charmed Love series include:  The Magical Tea Shop ~ The Magical Bed & Breakfast ~ The Magical Christmas Cottage ~

This is a clean, sweet romance with either closed doors or fade to black romantic scenes.

The Magical Tea Shop begins the Charmed Love series with a delightful romance between Ivy, the owner of a tea shop, and Jaxon, a widower, her landlord, and the intended recepient of some magical cookie press cookies that he somehow manages never to get a taste of… so, why then is he suddenly seeing Ivy in a different light or is reconsidering moving away from Hazard?  Hmmm.

Ivy has been goaded by her older, judgmental sister, Holly, into a bet, one that she is desperate to win for several reasons. Holly claims that one can only have success in either business or love; you need to choose your ultimate goal because both are impossible.  Ivy believes that one can have it all, a strong, successful business and the love of your life at your side… and she’s willing to bet on it.  But just to hedge that bet just a smidge, she’s taking down the so-called magical cookie press off the wall as decoration and making up a batch of magical cookies (or she hopes) to bring her true love, Jaxon, to her side.  It sounded great in theory, might have even worked if Jaxon’s entire baseball team hadn’t gobbled them up before he even got a nibble… or if suddenly her business is thriving with her tea shop filled with magically attracted men.   Good for the business, bad for her heart.

I had such fun with The Magical Tea Shop by Aimee O’Brian.  It’s well-written, witty, funny, emotional, and engaging as we watch Ivy and Jaxon bumble their way into each other’s hearts, with a little bit of magical help to ensure success.  Do you believe in magic?  It’s hard not to when the shenanigans surrounding this couple lead to changed lives and a well-deserved happy ever after.

I own a Kindle edition of this title.
