Three weeks. One unfinished house. And the man who still knows exactly how to undo her.

Felicity Evans traded in hard hats for high heels the day she left Holly, Montana for Seattle. Now a rising star in the financial world, she doesn’t look back—until her father’s injury drags her home to finish his most important construction project. She’ll manage the crew, keep her heart locked up tight, and be gone before the snow melts.

Then Danny Montgomery shows up.

Once the boy who could make her laugh—and make her knees weak—Danny is now a man whose rough hands and easy grin make it impossible to breathe. She needs his help to meet the deadline, but working side by side only stirs up the heat they’ve been avoiding for years.

Danny’s waited a decade for this second chance, and he’s not wasting it. Every glance, every accidental touch, every long winter night is another chance to remind her exactly what she walked away from.

By Valentine’s Day, the house won’t be the only thing finished. Felicity’s convinced her resolve will be gone too…

My Rating:  4.5 stars

Home to Montana is the third title in the Big Sky, Small Town series.  A bit of a confession, I had read this series back when it was first published in 2021.  Yes, this is a reissued series with new covers and a few changes within each story.  And the fact is, I enjoyed rereading this entire series just as much as I did the first time around… and Felicity and Danny are quite the couple.  *cough cough*  Talk about snark, banter, and a shared history.  They aren’t really a friends-to-lovers couple in the strictest sense, but they are childhood nemesis where a boy only knew how to tell a girl he liked her by teasing, pulling pranks, and generally being a pain… yeah, Danny.  Now that they’re all grown up (sorta kinda), life is about to get interesting for this couple.

I love snark, I do, I cannot deny that – and Home to Montana is filled with the kind of snark that I love, not vicious but pointed and direct with a punch.  Felicity’s developing feelings for Danny bring out her snark, and the banter between them is often epic.  It could be argued that these two were always meant to end up together, but, being equally stubborn, they took the long way to come to that realization.  Danny knows that Felicity will head back to the big city life by Valentine’s Day, so he has that long to convince her that what they have between them is worth the risk, worth holding onto, to open her heart to the man who has always loved her even if he didn’t know how to say that back then beyond teasing to get her attention.

I loved revisiting Felicity and Danny.  Their story is well-written, emotional, full of inside jokes, definitely snark, banter, and two stubborn people who will finally acknowledge what has always been between them… a connection and a forever kind of love.  If that sounds like your kind of romance, then you’d love Home to Montana by Jeannie Watt.
