The Cowboy’s Forever Promise is the sixth title in The Westions of Montana series, set in Marietta, Montana – perhaps my favorite of all fictional small towns around.  Carson and Abby, two very opposite-thinking people, are about to try to meld their personal life choices into a love that could last a lifetime… should complete chaos and absolute order ever find a way to co-exist.

I had such fun with Carson and Abby.  I have to admit that I’d love to be as organized as Abby, but unfortunately, I’m just as disordered as Carson is… at least until Abby comes into his life.  I enjoyed watching their personalities slowly change as they grew closer and began to trust their feelings and each other.  While all of Carson’s clutter didn’t totally disappear overnight, and Abby’s need for control slipped enough to allow for some spontaneous actions, at their core they are perfect for each other, and in the end, that’s all that’s truly important.  We also get to visit with some very familiar faces from this series, as well as from Marietta, Montana at large.  I’ve learned to never say that it’s over because authors surprise me all the time, yet it appears that The Cowboy’s Forever Promise is the final story in the series.  While that’s always a bittersweet moment for me, I’ll also be looking forward to what adventures Elsa Winckler brings us next.

Abby and Carson’s story is well-written, engaging, definitely emotional, and passionate, while delivering a realistic, believable couple’s journey to that happy ending we all want.  This author always delivers a believable, entertaining story and characters who feel like they live next door and are bringing me along for their adventures.  If that sounds like your kind of Modern Western Romance, then you’d love The Cowboy’s Forever Promise… or the entire series if you haven’t started it yet.
