When a family emergency brings cowboy Rory Pearson home to Marietta, he hires on to Juniper Falls Ranch for seasonal work. He’s hoping to explore an intriguing family legend. Armed with research and his grandfather’s stories, Rory thinks he’s ready, but nothing goes as planned. Then a sweetly sexy nurse propositions him.
Nurse Millie Sparks is tired of playing it safe. She’s been too focused on her education and career, and romance and adventure have passed her by. Staying on the ranch to care for a patient with a tricky pregnancy, Millie’s interest in Rory is immediate. He offers to teach her to ride, and she wonders if the lessons could extend to something else she’s been hiding.
It’s a game of flirtation and fun. Feelings can’t be serious. But as the clock ticks down, hearts interfere, and saying goodbye just got way more complicated.

Help Wanted, Cowboy is the third title in the Juniper Falls Ranch series, returning us to Marietta, Montana for Millie and Rory’s completely opposites-attract romance. This series is a spin-off of Ms. Reinhardt’s title in the multi-author series, Montana’s Rodeo Cowboys, and I’d highly recommend not only Ms. Reinhardt’s story (which is the first in this series), but the entire series as well. Rory has returned home to deal with a family emergency… and to do a bit of sleuthing about a family mystery/legend. Hiring on at the Juniper Falls Ranch for a bit falls perfectly in his plans. What he didn’t expect was the fierce attraction to Millie, a nurse who is also doing temporary work at the ranch. Neither expected their hearts to get involved in a harmless flirtation, a temporary fling… but the heart knows what it wants, even if the humans take a bit of time coming to the same conclusion.
I had fun with Help Wanted, Cowboy. It’s well-written, emotional, steamy, with a relatable, realistic couple who bring some mystery and laughter to their romance. I loved their banter, and it’s always the perfect touch for me when we run into familiar faces from the series, or even from Marietta, Montana as well. If this sounds like your kind of Modern Western Romance, then you’d love Millie and Rory’s story.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the author or the author’s team via Booksprout, and I sincerely thank them for their trust. I chose to leave a review to share my personal opinion about this book.*
