Remington Cross came to Marietta, Montana, out of duty, not choice. Scarred by war, this former soldier and rugged cowboy plans to check on his fallen commander’s godchild, then leave town for good. A smoldering one-night stand with the local bartender was supposed to be just that—a distraction. Until he discovers the little girl he came to protect needs more than he can walk away from.
Shane Knight has sworn off wounded bad boys and broken promises. After her failed engagement, love isn’t on the table—but one red-hot night with Remy might be just what she needs. Except soon she’s tangled up with the sexy cowboy and a child who needs them both.
When the past threatens their fragile new beginning, Remy and Shane must decide if they’re willing to risk their hearts for a second chance at love…and the family they never expected to find.

The Montana Cowboy’s Code of Honor begins the Cowboys of Honor series. We’re heading back to Marietta, Montana, for the tales of several Special Forces members as they fulfill their fallen leader’s list of things he’d planned to do.
Remy is returning to his hometown of Marietta, a place he swore he’d never return to and believed he’d put the town and his past there, firmly in his rearview mirror. Fate would have other plans. His “missions” are simple: retrieve a watch and check on the well-being of his fallen friend’s godchild. Simple becomes complicated when he meets Shane and discovers Arlo’s heartbreaking situation. Three people are about to become “found family”; the two adults carry baggage that won’t be easy to set aside. Yet the intense attraction, the pull they feel between them, and maybe fate, will find two stubborn, determined people discovering a path to a future neither had envisioned.
If you’ve been reading the Marietta, Montana, universe for any length of time, you may recognize some of the secondary characters on the Wilders’ ranch. I happen to love encountering old familiar faces from other series, but if you hadn’t met the Wilder brothers and their spouses before, well, perhaps you’ll want to check out Sinclair Jayne’s backlist for another, earlier visit to Marietta, Montana.
The Montana Cowboy’s Code of Honor is a heartfelt, engaging, and realistic introduction to the new series. Remy and Shane have issues to be dealt with, yet their growing attraction for each other and their determination to help Arlo set the stage for a wonderful romance with all the feels you could possibly require. It’s well-written and will easily (and quickly) draw you in until you’re lost in the story and wishing for more.
