The Sheriff’s Forever Love is the thirteenth title in the Haden Creek Hearts series.  I’ve learned never to say “final,” because another novel sometimes sneaks up on me.  But.  Patricia and Tom’s romance would be the perfect wrap-up story for this series.  Two adults who let their professions come before their personal lives, now later in life and still believing happy endings are possible… if you wait long enough, and Tom has loved Patricia for a very, very long time.

I loved this story.  A developer’s plan threatens Haden Creek and will destroy what this small town truly is, and long-time friends Patricia and Tom aren’t about to let him get away with it.  And it will be a fight.  But it will also be a personal win for them, because this crisis will peel away the layers that have kept them apart and open eyes to what has been in plain sight for years.  Many familiar faces will join the town in fighting this battle to the end.  They believe it will be the happy one… they hope.  Their story is emotional, well-written, and kept me engaged through to the final page.  If that sounds like your kind of romance, then you’d enjoy this one.
