There’s A Reason Things Are Slowing Down Here

lady with bookIf you’ve followed KEEPER BOOKSHELF through various social media you will have noticed that things around here have really slowed down in the past month.

There is a reason for that and I’d like to take a moment to explain.  (I know I don’t have to but I value every single visitor and you should know why I’ve been more quiet lately.)

  1.  Cataracts – yeah need the left eye’s cataract removed so I can actually see again.
  2.  Moving – we had the sudden opportunity to move from our apartment into a house and grabbed it with both hands – but that meant moving in under 4 weeks  Yikes!
  3.  And the final nail yesterday – Knee Replacement Surgery in early March.  *sigh*

It seems that 2016 is hitting hard on the “needs to be taken care of NOW” kinda things in life.  Oh, I’m not complaining really – my life could be far, far worse so I’m grateful for the blessings I have – and the intervention on all of these things that will make it “all good” in time.  Time, there’s that word again.

So, we move in 6 1/2 days now  *gulp* and of course I’m not ready.  Wait for the internet connections shouldn’t be more than a day (fingers crossed) so hopefully I can get back on track and plan ahead for March/April within a week.

If you don’t see my reviews or these little comment rants of mine – don’t worry, I’ve not left the building, just stepped out of the room for a short break.  I keep telling myself that by Summer things will be so much better – it’s the getting there that’s the scary part.

  1. Yay on the move to the house, Marsha! I feel for your packing-pain. Two summers ago, within the span of two months, we packed and moved my in-laws, our youngest son, and our oldest son’s girlfriend. It was exhausting and we never wanted to see a moving box ever again! Needless to say, I spent the following winter decluttering our own house. 🙂

My mom had a knee operation that same summer, so I understand what is involved. I’ll be thinking of you in March and wishing you a fast and painless healing period. Take care of yourself!

    Hi Sheila 🙂

Yeah the move is exciting. I’m a country girl and we’re moving to the very edge of the country with lots of land – and we can finally get a dog to harass the cats LoL Something my son has wanted for years. Now the kid, he’s a city boy so this is going to be a culture shock for him. But it gets us out of an apartment building that hasn’t been the best experience, so moving madness aside – it’s a very positive and looked forward to move.

The knee I knew would have to be done eventually, it’s been a chronic pain for at least 25 years – I wasn’t emotionally prepared to hear that the knee was now bone on bone and there was nothing that could be done aside from surgery. I made a split second decision to just schedule the first available time – and now I simply want it done and over with. I know that it’s going to be very painful, at first, but eventually I’ll leave behind 80-90% of the pain I’m in now..and that’s a good thing.

Thanks for your well wishes, they are appreciated and I’ll hold them close – cos it’s gonna be a crazy ride over the next few months. 🙂
