Finding Love Through Grit and Grace…

Samantha “Sammie” Abel, formerly of the Buckin’ Babes reality TV show, always wanted to be known for more than her beauty. The new Grit and Grace Rodeo Roughstock Company, founded with her friends, is her opportunity to prove she can compete in a male-dominated world. She just needs to secure their first rodeo contract. Nothing stops her—not an oops pregnancy, sexist demands, or the unexpected arrival of her baby daddy, intent on winning the same bid.

Professional bull rider Alec Neisson knows he can’t compete forever. The youngest in his wealthy ranching family, he’s always been determined to step up and prove he can run the family’s lucrative bucking bull program. As a favor to his grandfather, he heads to Last Stand, Texas, to prove he has what it takes, never dreaming his family business opportunity will pit him against the woman he’s tried but failed to forget.

Only one can win, but when Alec discovers Sammie’s news, more than his career is at stake, but he needs to woo Sammie and gain her trust.

Title:  All’s Fair in Love and Rodeo
Series:  Grit and Grace #1

My Rating:  4.5 stars

All’s Fair in Love and Rodeo by Leah Vale is the beginning of the Grit and Grace series, introducing us all to the former Buckin’ Babes reality stars, friends to the end, and into a new endeavor.  Sammie is up first as she throws down against her baby daddy, Alec, when they’re both competing for the same rodeo contract.  Each needs that contract for different reasons: Alec as proof to his grandfather that he’s committed to their legacy, Sammie to get the Grits and Grace rodeo stock company off the ground and established.  Only one can win the contract.

I loved Sammie and Alec as a couple and individually.  Both are driven, Sammie might be more stubborn *cough*, yet she is carrying some heavy family issues, so in some ways her attitude isn’t just for stubborn’s sake.  Together, they’ll make a loving, power couple… once they get to that point.  There will be some suspenseful moments as the danger to the company (and the ladies of Grit and Grace) begins to come into play, laying the groundwork for a mystery that will carry through the entire series.

I completely loved this first story in the series.  All’s Fair in Love and Rodeo by Leah Vale is well-written, emotional, and suspenseful with moments of humor and passion.  If that’s your kind of romance/romantic suspense enjoyment, then you’re going to love this one.

If you have read the Rodeo Romeos series, then you might recognize Alec’s last name or see some familiar faces.  It’s not necessary to have read that series to fully enjoy Grit and Grace, but it is connected in a way, if you’d like to check it out.  Both are excellent series.

I initially read this one while I was in the hospital, and recently realized that I hadn’t put up a review for the beginning of a series that I’ve loved.  Re-reading Sammie’s and Alec’s romance was pure pleasure.

I own a Kindle edition of this title
